Fathom Bistro Bait & Tackle

Welcome to Fathom!

Meet Fathom Bistro's unofficial greeter; I named him Clyde.  (Does anyone else think Clyde and Seamore are hilarious?)

Dennis Borlek's new venture (think Monkey Paw, and Hamilton's) is bordering on perfection. Picture yourself sitting out on the Shelter Island fishing pier, drinking craft beer, eating a handmade sausage sandwich (or wedge salad) and looking at the beautiful San Diego bay.  That is exactly what I did a few nights ago for the Fathom Bistro soft opening.  If Clyde wasn't enough to entice you, may I present exhibit B.

Hello San Diego
Ok, if my expert shoddy photography doesn't convince you let's get down to the important stuff:  the beer.  Borlek tells me that he has 15 taps available and tries to devote 10 of them at a time to local beers.  He also said that the tap rotation will be frequent which is great news for San Diego beer lovers.  Since the place is so small he cools his kegs by hanging them in the ocean by a steel cable.  Cool, right?!

Tap list from FB post

When you go down to Fathom look for me, I think I will be spending a lot of time here.  It is a nice (flat) bike ride from my house and the patio is dog friendly; Bamboo loves beer.  Kids are also welcome, so next time my grandson comes to visit he will be going to Fathom as well.  If you go, tell them Ronda sent you...they don't know me but it will be funny.
